Students and enthusiasts of Wing Chun have many reasons for their interest in this and other martial art styles. Some are drawn to the physical fitness and weight-loss aspects of training. Others seek to add discipline and self control to their lives. While still others are concerned about safety and self-defense.

Whether you are interested in our programs for mental or physical well being, Columbia Martial Arts Center offers a number of programs that will fit your developmental needs and your busy schedule as well.

Traditional Wing Chun Gun Fu
Traditional Wing Chun Gung fu instruction covering all aspects of wing chun skill development as well as the cultivation of charactor, energy and spirit. Beginner to Instructor levels are taught as well as forms,chi-sao,wooden dummy,dragon pole, butterfly swords, iron palm, qi gung, meditation, merridian therapy, combat trainning and application, self defense applications,practical real life and competition apllications, trainning methods etc)

Wing Chun Jr.Tigers (Kids 5-7 year olds)
Wing Chun Jr.Tigers (Kids 5-7 year olds) is a specially designed program to teach kids ages 5-7 years old life skills and to build the basic foundation for future learning. Wing Chun Tigers (Kids 8-12, Teen Tigers 13-15 year olds)
Kids programs targeted for 8-15 year olds. Improves focus & concentration, respect, dicipline, particpation in any sport, awareness, coordination, balance, agility, flexability, team work, confidence and real world leadership skills.

Ground Defense 1
The Grappling class is an excellent addition to any martial art. An art in itself, grappling is a necessary component in self-defense situations once the encounter goes to the ground. The focus of this class is the development of skills necessary to survive once on the ground. A wide variety of different grappling arts are combined to develop an effective grappling method. Learn the basic principles and positions of ground fighting, submissions,and getting back up to your feet safely. Judo, pankration, Ju-Jitsu, chin-na, Shuai Jiao(chinese wrestling) and Traditional Wing Chun concepts will be included.

Wing Chun Self Defense (beginners)
Beginner Self Defense for men and women. Real world practical self defense tactics easy to learn, practical to use. Program teaches awareness, verbal descalation techniques, developes proper reflexes, power, speed, co-ordination and stun and run tactics that can be used to save your life.

Cardio & Conditioning
Cardio & Conditioning Class
Athletic skills (and ability) are important part of the martial arts training process when learning to defend oneself. Without a good level of basic fitness, the ordinary individual may struggle to defend themselves in a given confrontation. Rather, to effectively apply a given martial art, we believe that physical conditioning will help.Our fitness and conditioning classes are open to individuals of any fitness ability or physical condition. The classes are intended to improve cardio vascular fitness and endurance of the practitioner.

We employ various tried and tested martial arts and boxing methods to develop your fitness and conditioning and these include:

Resistance Band training

Medicine Ball training for strength and stability

Plyometric training for dynamic martial arts movement

Muscular Endurance training Core Strength training program

Flexibility and Dynamic stretching

You will loose weight, be fit, and feel good, and more importantly you should have enough endurance to defend yourself.


Wing Chun Skill & Power Building Course
WING CHUN POWER BUILDING COURSE Curriculum covers:Developing structure and foundation to Wing Chun.Sil lim tao form.All combat applications of Sil lim tao form.Chi sao- 1arm, cross, parallel, and 2 arm chi sao. Combat applications of chi sao. Eye training - how to train and develop your eyes for combat.Chi gung and meditation for martial arts training. How to stay calm during a high stress scenario.Footwork development Wing Chun kicking. Developing fast and powerful kicks.The different stages to Wing Chun,punching. Entry techniques. Learn how to engage different systems safely and effectively.Linking all of the above aspects together.Included in the course: 4 Private classes a month. Unlimited attendance to general class, both Wing Chun and Meditation classes. Iron Palm Training Iron Shin Training. Study Aids - Wing Chun books and dvds. All private lessons will be filmed and put on dvd each week.1 year training program. The program is 1 year intensive.
